Bandar Seri Begawan – The BAG Networks, under the Ministry of Finance, yesterday invited personnel from the Infocom Federation Brunei (IFB) to briefly speak on the upcoming Brunei ICT Career Day, which aims at opening up new opportunities for the current workforce as well as jobseekers.
"The BAG Networks has a culture where we have knowledge sharing once a week," said IFB Secretariat Pengiran Sarimah Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff during yesterday's briefing. The upcoming career day, she said, will be nationwide whereby the BAG Networks will participate in terms of the "recruiters" perspective. "We hope that everyone participating will take full advantage of the opportunity that's going to be available at the event," she added. The IFB secretariat also said, "We have got the Education Service Provider (ESP) as well as the Authority for Infocommunications Technology Industry (AiTi), whose primary role is to bring awareness of their ICT Contingency Programme." The IFB, she added, is encouraging not only the current workforce but also school-leavers and fresh graduates to visit the Brunei ICT Career Day. "The current workforce can upgrade themselves in terms of certifications, and also see where their careers are leading them, in terms of ICT."
The two-day event will kick off on May 3 at the International Convention Centre.
