Science, Technology Week at UBD
03rd July 2006

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will be holding its 3rd Science
and Technology Week, entitled 'Science and Technology: Gateway to a
Bright Future', from June 6 to June 10, at the university's
Chancellor Hall.
The annual event
is organized by the Faculty of Science, UBD.
Launched in 2004,
the event aims to bring various government sectors, industries,
non-government organizations and higher institutions together to
promote science and technology in the Sultanate and to generate
interests in UBD's research activities and in the country.
In addition, it
is also an opportunity for the general public to become aware of the
role that science and technology plays in our daily activities.
Career talks will
highlight the five-day affair which will be delivered by reputable
science educators and S&T professionals from the Department of
Health, Public Works Services (JKR) as well as from non-government
agencies such as DST Group, BAG Networks, BASE and Brunei LNG. Apart
from career talks, Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) will showcase
the Tech Challenge Teachers' Workshop on the second day and Tech
Challenge Competition on the third day.
The event will
also feature open exhibitions of science and technology by
participating quest exhibitors from government and non-government
agencies, which will include hands-on experiments, answer
challenging puzzles and fun-filled activities.
