By Kartika Rahman

Bandar Seri Begawan - Towards bringing Brunei into the cyber era, a signing ceremony took place between Bitex Sdn Bhd and Trendsideas Enterprise, as witnessed by Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Awang Hj Ahmad bin Hj Abdul Rahman.

The signing ceremony looked to sub-licence International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) courses to Trendsideas Enterprisem, which has been licenced to Bitex Sdn Bhd.

ICDL, an internationally recognised IT skills certification programme, is available in 150 countries, including Brunei, with over 20,000 test centres. In Brunei, it is recognised by the public sector as being a crucial skill, and BAG Networks has made it mandatory for all its employees to have ICDL certification.

"ICDL benefitssmall and medium enterprises by producing IT savvy staff, reducing costs, and enabling the leveraging on IT for a competitive edge, as well as keeping up with the rest of the world in terms of requiring key IT skills," said CEO of Bitex Sdn Bhd, Mohd Mahathir Abdullah, in his introductory note.
