BAG Networks Sdn Bhd recently held a Hari Raya gathering for 150 children with special needs and their parents at the Child Development Centre in Kiarong. Present as chief guests were Acting Director of Hospital Services, Ministry of Health, Pg Hashim Pg Hj Besar and CEO of RIPAS Hospital, Dr Norlila DP Hj Abdul Jalil.

Also in attendance were other staff members from RIPAS Hospital and CDC while representatives from the organisers present at the gathering were Assistant Operation Manager Mahmud Hj Jeludin, Head of Marketing and Communication Pg Hj Emran PSW Pg Hj Ahmad. Some 20 personnel from BAG Networks were also present at the Raya gathering.

CDC is a centre under the Health Ministry that aims to facilitate the provision of services for the diagnosis, assessment, treatment and support therapies for children in order to help ensure their optimal health and development.

It began its operation in October 1999 and the centre also has an Early Developmental Programme with the main objective to prepare children with special needs to join mainstream schooling.

The centre has also worked closely with other government and non-governmental agencies such as Special Education Unit of the Education Ministry, Pusat Bahagia, Ministry of Welfare, Youth & Sports, Pusat Ehsan and SMARTER.

At the Raya gathering, Awg Mahmud and Pg Hj Emran also gave away "green packets" to the children, who were also entertained by local artists belting out Hari Raya songs.
